Efficient Technologies, a MidAmerican EnergyAdvantage Trade Ally Partner, was founded in 2014 and serves the Midwest. We are an energy efficiency consulting firm that operates a partnership-based business model. Our goal is to provide innovative energy efficient solutions that maximize savings and improve operational performance for businesses in a variety of industries.

Efficient Technologies specializes in turnkey identification, analysis and implementation of energy saving projects. Jeff Hassman

Jeff has a business degree from the University of Northern Iowa and an MBA from the University of Michigan. Jeff has nearly 20 years of professional experience in a variety of corporate, consulting and entrepreneurial environments, including working for Deere & Company, global consulting and establishing CVP Advisors. Jeff partnered with the team to form Efficient Technologies in 2014, where he is integral in strategy and finance.

Tim Funk

Director of Business Development

Tim graduated from Winona State University with a degree in physics, and went on to MBA school at the University of Iowa.  He has worked in the industrial solutions world during his career as a technical sales person. With Efficient Technologies, Tim is focused on new technologies and having a customer value process.

Project Design and Implementation

Adam Clemons
Project Manager

Adam holds a degree in finance from Illinois State University;  he also has over seven years of experience as an electrical contractor. He combines the two skills to work as the team’s project manager. Adam works directly with the customer and the subcontractors to ensure that projects are completed efficiently and in a timely manner. He also works with the team to survey new projects and helps work with new products from a numerous amount of LED vendors.


Jeff Gorrie
Energy Engineer II

Jeff holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University; he also has 5 years of experience as an energy efficiency professional having completed over 1,000 commercial energy assessments. Jeff has also worked on data center assessments, large industrial assessments, account management, BPI blower door testing, compressed air leak detection studies, compressed air system optimization, energy modeling, power factor correction, demand response, and peak demand reduction strategies.

Jeff provides engineering support for all Efficient Technologies offerings, manages all compressed air leak detection studies, and executes ASHRAE level I, II, and III commercial/industrial energy assessments.


Colton Cornwell
National Sales Executive

Colton graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a degree in Business Management. He quickly grew a passion for solution selling during his time at UNI. Following graduation, he became a Regional Territory Manager for Professional Office Services, where he provided print and digital expertise to the healthcare industry. Colton’s main focus at Efficient Technology is to maximize consumers’ ROI through energy efficient solutions. His attention to the customer service approach speaks to his proven success.
